total blog revamp!

If you happen to be a regular reader of my blog (thanks heheh) you may notice something a little different, such as everything! I finally bit the bullet and upgraded, so now I can do fun things like this:

But posting pictures of my cats wasn't the only reason I upgraded (though it was definitely one of them), as I've tried and failed to make a personal site before with a similar theme to my blog as it is now. Not being able to dedicate the time to finishing the site was a huge bummer for me, especially since I've always wanted a site of my own. After enough time on this platform, though, I've realized my blog has become a home base for me, a safe space, and a community. So, I figured I didn't really need my own site, just a way to make The Birdhouse more my own. And that's what I did!
So, what's new? Well, I've changed a couple things on my blog since upgrading, such as adding a blogroll and guestbook. I also revamped the reading log and vpet pages, as well as making a custom footer. Most obvious of the changes was the theme change. My previous theme was Sakura Vader, and I really enjoyed finding ways to make my blog beautiful and personal without images, but I figured it was time to make something that felt more nostalgic and personal. That was all I could get done within two hours, but there's so much more to come!
