I spent all my money on clothes ;3
I spent over one hundred and fifty real American dollars today on clothes (two of which I can't even wear anywhere but the treadmill or my bed) so to make myself feel better about my bad spending habits, I thought I'd tell you guys what I bought!
My only stop in-person was to the mall! I hadn't been to the mall in my new town since moving, so I went purely to scope out the place (and maybe find some cute long sleeves for fall). I was a little disappointed with the size of the American Eagle, since the AE/Aerie in my hometown is giant and I used to spend over an hour in that store every time I went, but the Hollister more than made up for the lack of women's clothes at the American Eagle.
I used to not care about Hollister, not even in middle school when they were the coolest place on Earth you could get clothes from, but I've recently found a lot of their tops very flattering and a refreshing take on the microtrends I see in a lot of stores these days. The two long sleeve shirts I bought (New York & Chicago) from them remind me of the Radio Silence tees from Brandy Mellville, which I like, so I'm happy to have some long sleeve but not totally suffocating tops for the sweaty Florida transition into fall! Also from Hollister, I found two bralettes for $20 (which if you know anything about lacy bras you know is a steal) in white, black, and navy. I got the white and black since I have a dress and shirt (in white and black) which needed pretty bras! I love navy, but am currently on a navy buying ban because I buy everything in navy and need to stop.
Another thing I was looking for at the mall but didn't find were some cute bike shorts for the treadmill. I'm personally not a leggings person (something me in 2014 would never say) because I don't like the suction feeling down my entire leg, but enjoy high-rise bike shorts for the suction feeling on on my stomach. Like I said, I didn't find any at the stores in-person, but I did find two pairs from Garage in colors I liked on sale for $10 each!
I'm a little weary of the fit, since Garage tops usually either fit me perfectly or attempt to cut off all circulation to my arms despite both being the same size, and I haven't bought bottoms from them before, so I sized up and got a Small. Also from Garage, I've been looking for the perfect black tank top for a while, and I found one with great reviews! I hate having to wear a bra with strappy tank tops, but this one is athletic material and doesn't need one, which is great! It's on the pricier side at $22, but considering how much I wear my current black tank top (and how much I've spent on other tank tops at Brandy), I considered it an investment.
