companion & valentine's day
I woke up a little later than usual this morning because I was out a little later than usual last night. V and I tried to see a theater production at our university, but we showed up and it was sold out (on a random Thursday night, so it must've been a banger). After two minutes of deliberation, we changed course and went to the movies for a late-night showing of Companion. I wasn't sure I'd like Companion based on the trailer, but it was either this or Paddington in Peru, and V isn't very well acquainted with the PCU (Paddington Cinematic Universe) so we didn't have much of a choice.
Companion was a pleasant surprise! Without giving away too much, I suggest you go into it blind to really appreciate the twists and turns the story takes. I actually laughed out loud a few times, and while it wasn't the best movie I've ever seen, it was perfect for a night out with a friend, and I would definitely watch it again!
I spent most of this morning writing a paper for one of my classes and calling my mom. While calling her, I got a delivery of flowers and chocolate at my door, which my girlfriend ordered because she's back home visiting family this week. I was so happy! And excited to eat all that chocolate!
Though my morning was by all accounts chill, I was feeling nervous for my tattoo appointment in the afternoon. There was nothing to be nervous about, I've gotten plenty of tattoos from this artist (we're pretty good friends by this point), I know the shop, and I know where to park for free without getting towed, and it was all going to be fine! I was very nervous, but the appointment went great! It took about two hours, we talked about movies the entire time, and now I have a beautiful pomegranate on my stomach! If you're wondering how much it hurt: yes.
Now that I'm immobilized with a giant Saniderm patch on my tummy, I think I'll spend the night eating what's left of these chocolates (kidding, I'll leave a couple...) and watching a movie.
Hope you all had an amazing Valentine's Day! Much love <3
